CANOPY@JamaMasjid: some pictures

Posted on December 17, 2008

Some pictures of CANOPY at Jama Masjid. At Jama Masjid, we had daily workshops for children from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. The workshop was led by Azam and Sonu from Jamghat.

The first day of the workshop was introduction to vegetables and growing them and taking care of them, the second day we had a drawing workshop, the third day it was singing with the Manzil band and the fourth day was soap bubble blowing.

Only a few pictures are archived here, will post more about conversations and interactions at this CANOPY soon. Will also add more pictures later.

I am a student of Hans raj college.I was there at jama mahzid, working as volunteer in 48C festival with prayas .It was a very favbulous experince for me.The childrens where very much exicted about the workshop. Most of the people standing near the canopy were not knowing what actually was hapeening there. but as we explained it to them they appreciated the whole idea. The children were very much happy as they were given importance and respect in the workshop which is very rare to them.I will like to inform that all the children who participated in the workshop were homeless and an NGO “Jamghat” take care of them. I will writing rest of my first hand experince of this kind in my next post.
